In My Mailbox (23) / Stacking the Shelves (17)

In My Mailbox (hosted by The Story Siren, temporarily at The Mod Podge Bookshelf) and Stacking the Shelves (hosted by Tynga’s Reviews) are weekly memes in which bloggers share the books they buy, borrow, and receive.

Borrowed:

Soulless by Gail Carriger — I’ve started this one already and love it so far. There’s a lot of humor in it.
How Zoe Made Her Dreams (Mostly) Come True by Sarah Strohmeyer
Blood Red Road by Moira Young
Freshman Year & Other Unnatural Disasters by Meredith Zeitlin
Bittersweet by Sarah Ockler
Rapunzel Untangled by Cindy C. Bennett
Out of Nowhere by Maria Padian
City of Fallen Angels by Cassandra Clare
The Watch That Ends the Night: Voices from the Titanic by Allan Wolf — I’ve been wanting to read this forever. Hopefully it’s as good as I’m thinking it will be.
The Loop by Shandy Lawson

Won:

The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot — thanks to Quinn’s Book Nook
Meant to Be by Lauren Morrill (review) — thanks to Quinn’s Book NookΒ — I’m too stoked to have my own copy of this. And it’s signed! Woo!
Find Me by Romily Bernard — thanks to HarperTeen (via Goodreads)
Right of Way by Lauren Barnholdt — thanks to The Escapist (and S&S, of course)

I’m swiftly running out of space on my bookshelves. There are so many books lined in and stacked on top that the shelves are bowing. I’m sure if there were an earthquake my books would topple before anything else had a chance to even move an inch. Hah. Still, I’d rather have too many books than none at all.

  1. lol. I had to do a book purge recently, but I still have ‘too many’. A friend called me up last year and said “is it weird if I put books inside my kitchen cabinets?” – I am not at that stage yet, phew. Freshman Year & Other Unnatural Disasters sounds like a great read and The Loop sounds interesting (I’d love to know what you think of this one, once read!). Have a great reading week.

    1. Haha. I would be that person putting books in the cabinets.

I was thinking about starting The Loop soon. I think my sister-in-law read it, though I don’t know how she felt about it. It’s rather short, so who knows.

  2. EEPs… awesome books!! I really want to read Bittersweet, I heard Sarah Ockler’s contemps were amazing. (Actually I have two from the library that I need to read, lol)! Meant to be has a fantastic cover. I got the egalley for Find Me a bit ago, it sounds really intriguing; I can’t wait to see what you think of it too πŸ™‚ I hope you enjoy all your books and thanks so much for stopping by blog!!

  3. I am forever running out of space to store books. Luckily, my husband has a similar problem (plus he buys a lot of first edition and collectable books) so buying new shelving is something he gets.

I really want to read Meant To Be and am trying to read more contemporary books. I have Bittersweet on my kindle and keep meaning to get to it. Hope you enjoy all of your books!

    1. Thanks (: I’m super excited to read Find Me. (Every time I type that I have to correct the spelling because I put “fine”. Like, no, please don’t FINE me. Haha.)

  4. I’ve heard so many good things about Meant to be, but haven’t read it yet. I’ve hard Bittersweet checked out from the library for weeks, but still need to get to it. I love the Princess Diaries series. Great haul! I completely understand about your buckling bookshelves. Mine are out of control, too. Thanks for stopping by!

    1. I definitely recommend Meant to Be. It’s super cute. I was just thinking about reading The Princess Diaries. I feel like it might be one of those series I need to binge on, though, and I only have the first book.

    1. I haven’t started reading it yet, but I think I probably will in the near future. It seems to be loved by many of the people I’ve talked to.

Thank you. That makes me super happy πŸ˜€
