Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Hollow City Ransom Riggs

Hollow City
by Ransom Riggs
Publication Date: January 14, 2014

From Goodreads:
In 1940 after the first book ends, Jacob and his new Welsh island friends flee to London, the Peculiar capital of the world. Caul, a dangerous madman, is Miss Peregrine’s brother, and can steal Peculiar abilities for himself. The Peculiars must fight for survival, again.

From Amazon:
This second novel begins in 1940, immediately after the first book ended. Having escaped Miss Peregrine’s island by the skin of their teeth, Jacob and his new friends must journey to London, the peculiar capital of the world. Along the way, they encounter new allies, a menagerie of peculiar animals, and other unexpected surprises.

Complete with dozens of newly discovered (and thoroughly mesmerizing) vintage photographs, this new adventure will delight readers of all ages.

OH. MY. GOD. dkvbfboxzfnch I am so excited for this book, you guys! I loved Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children and have been waiting for what seems like FOREVER for this next one to come out. It’s so close I can taste it. I’m a little scared it might not be as good as the first, but I have faith. It seems Riggs wasn’t in too much of a rush to publish it, so I assume that means he took a lot of time and work with it. Ah! d,jvflfkbvkdsjxc (And it comes out a few days after my birthday! Maybe it’ll be a present to myself?)
